Ghinzani had a difficult season, only managing one points scoring finish, a 5th place at the Dallas Grand Prix, to end the season 19th in the Driver's Championship. This was his only points finish in 74 Formula One starts.

This model is the latest release in the Formula 1 Car Collection from Panini.
Magnussen earned 9th place in the championship, with best place finishes of 5th in Bahrain and Austria. His team-mate Grosjean finished 19 points behind him.

Brambilla scored a win at Austria in a race shortened to 29 laps, and 2 other points finishes to end the season in 11th place in the driver's standings.

This model is from issue 8 of Panini's F1 Car collection, ordered from their website.
Ayrton Senna made his debut in Formula 1 in 1984 for the Toleman team. He made the podium three times, finishing the season in ninth place before moving to Team Lotus for the '85 season.

An ebay find for Button's first drive in Formula 1. This is also the first Minichamps model in my collection.
He made his debut at the 2000 Australian Grand Prix, retiring on lap 46 with an engine failure. Button saw 6 points finishes to finish the championship in 8th place. Jenson moved to the Benetton team for the 2001 season.

This is the first model for the Debut collection, and the first Bburago model I have bought. I purchased this from Jadlam Models which has a small range, and is reasonably swift with delivery.
Zhou had a difficult first season in Formula 1, managing three points finishes for an overall placing of 18th. This season will probably remain memorable for his upside down spin at Silverstone.

The other Button selection in the F1 Car Collection available on ebay. I'll probably leave the tobacco sponsorships off this car, as historically it ran as depicted on the model.
Jenson recorded his maiden win in this car at Hungary. He finished 6th in the championship that year. His team mate, Barrichello, was one place behind him and the Honda team placed fourth in the Constructor's Championship.

I was always a Button fan, so I looked for this on ebay and got a nice deal on this model with the F1 Collection magazine.
Button started the 2009 season with 6 wins out of the first 7 races, then struggled to get over the line as Red Bull caught up and JB started to make uncharacteristic mistakes, before clinching the title in the penultimate race at Interlagos.

I purchased this on ebay as I am a fan of Jim Clark and thought it would be a reasonable piece for a shelf. I chose the one that came with a copy of the Formula 1 Car Collection magazine as an afterthought.
Clark was dominant in this car in 1963, winning 7 of the 10 events.
So this blog is going to follow along as I build a collection of 1/43 scale diecast Formula 1 cars.
The collection will have 3 main themes. These are:
Champions. A car for for each World Champion in the season they won the title.
Debut cars. A car from the debut season of every driver on the current grid.
Jenson Button. As a big fan of JB I will, initially, collect a car from each of his F1 seasons.
